Is there really a free plan?+
Nothing dramatic — FreshFridgeFriend is free to use with 100 AI actions per month. Pantry, manual add, basic reminders, and the pantry finder are all yours. Upgrade only if you want unlimited AI and the rest of Premium. No card, no countdown, no surprise charges.
So… am I really capped at 100 “scans”?+
Capped, but generously: the free tier includes 100 AI-powered actions per calendar month — no card, no countdown. That is a lot of groceries. Premium households? Scan like nobody’s watching.
What counts toward those 100?+
Receipt scans, photo scans, AI autofill on items, recipe ideas, Magic sauce (ingredients & directions), and AI recipe cover images all sip from the same smoothie. One meter, one month. Manual add-by-hand? Free. Swiping something as eaten? Free. Side-eyeing whoever left the milk out? Priceless, and also free.
What happens when I hit the limit?+
The magic wand takes a nap until the 1st of next month. Your pantry still works — add items, edit, move, mark used, waste guilt, the whole thing. We don’t padlock the fridge; we just pause the robot helper.
How many storage spots do I get?+
Free plan: 5 spots (Fridge, Freezer, “that one weird cupboard,” etc.). Premium: up to 10. If you need an 11th location, you may have a hobby — or a very ambitious cheese collection.
Is there a limit on how many items I can hoard?+
Not currently. Track every rogue condiment jar your heart desires. We draw the line at AI superpowers and premium perks, not your mustard collection.
Do household seats affect my scan limit?+
Scans are per person, not per fridge. Everyone on Premium gets unlimited AI. On the free tier, each login gets their own monthly bucket — so no, your roommate can’t steal your scans. They can still steal your yogurt, though. That’s on you.

Does this app work on desktop?+
Yes — FreshFridgeFriend runs in your browser on phone, tablet, or laptop. Scan with your phone at the store, manage your pantry from your desktop. No app store download required.
Is this a native Android or iOS app?+
Not really. Android has a simple Play Store wrapper around the website — same app, just easier to open. There is no iOS app yet; use freshfridgefriend.app in Safari (you can add it to your Home Screen). Everything is the web app under the hood.
How does pricing work?+
Each person with their own login is one user. Pick your household size on the slider — flat monthly tiers from $8 for solo cooks up to 6 logins. Per-person cost is lowest at 5–6 users. Add or remove seats any time from Settings.
Can I add or remove people quickly?+
Yep — bump users up or down any time from Settings → Household. Adds are pro-rated on your next invoice; removals free up a seat immediately and credit the unused time.
Do you have discounts if I share this app with my friends?+
Yes — share your referral link from Settings → Referrals. When a new friend creates an account through it and buys a paid Premium plan, you get one month free (stacks up to 12 months a year). Household invites alone don't count — they need to subscribe.
What counts as a user?+
One person in your household with their own login. Kids who don't cook (yet) don't need a seat.
Can I cancel?+
Any time, from Settings → Manage subscription. You keep Premium until the end of the billing period.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?+
Absolutely. Toggle it from Manage subscription. Switching to annual gives you one month free! Switching back to monthly takes effect at your next renewal.
What's the maximum household size?+
Paid plans support up to 6 users — enough for a busy shared house without turning billing into a spreadsheet.
